I was driving my vehicle on a California freeway and it stopped at traffic signal that was red. When the light turned green and my vehicle accelerated forward the vehicle system powered down in the middle of traffic. I had the vehicle towed to a local mechanic who identified two potential causes for my vehicle powering down and one of the items referenced was the recalled dc converter. I had the vehicle towed to my local Land Rover dealership and they confirmed that a faulty dc converter was…

Structural Support/Shielding on Fuel Tank rusted away due to a well-documented galvanic corrosion issue for 2017 Range Rover Sport vehicles. The joining of uncoated disparate metal surfaces leads to a hyper-corrosion event of the shield, which can cause fuel tank to drop onto roadway during normal driving, potentially resulting in a catastrophic accident. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) North America continues to deny CRC goodwill claims for repair, replacement and/or reimbursement unless NHTSA is…

There are exhaust fumes in the Cabin. This has been going on since May of 2026. Multiple different repairs have been made. I still smell exhaust fumes on my clothing after driving the vehicle with the windows up and the air conditioning on. I do not know if there are air quality safety issues including carbon monoxide coming into the vehicle when in it.

2012 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT

Vehicle experienced a complete electrical failure while driving. The vehicle is a 2012 Range Rover Sport. At approximately 25 mph, the engine shut off, all exterior and interior lights went out, and the steering wheel locked in the straight‑ahead position. I temporarily lost control of the vehicle and was only able to stop safely because I was traveling at low speed. This incident created an immediate crash risk. An independent mechanic inspected the vehicle but could not identify the…

'Hood Open' Warning on Dash: message on the instrument cluster, even when the hood is securely closed. Alarm Randomly Triggering: A faulty hood latch switch can also trick the vehicle's security system into thinking the hood is being opened, causing the alarm to go off unexpectedly, often in the middle of the night. Hood Wobbles or Flutters at Speed: If one or both latches are not fully engaged, airflow at highway speeds can cause the hood to lift and wobble. Hood Won't Latch on One or Both…

NHTSA Vehicle Safety Complaint Narrative I am submitting this complaint to report what I believe is a safety-related defect involving the power liftgate on my 2026 Range Rover Sport. Prior to the incident described below, the vehicle’s power liftgate had unexpectedly opened on two separate occasions after it had been closed. Although those earlier events did not result in damage, they caused concern because the liftgate opened without my intentionally activating it. On July 2, 2026, while…
